I see the evidence that revascularizing hibernating myocardium doesn't help.

Whatever you want to call it, I don't see how "hibernating" myocardium is BS. I just think that it is myocardium that slowly "passively adapted" to a low oxygen environment.

In PET-examinations "hibernating" myocardium high have uptake of FDG (glucose) even though they are hypokinetic on MR (and viable) and the area have a low blood flow. On myocardial scintigraphy there is no uptake in hibernating myocardium which could be explained by downregulation of mitochondria (where the isotope in scintigrafi is taken up) and low blood flow. The high glucose uptake seen on PET in the hypokinetic myocardium can be explained by anaerobic metabolism.
